Haaland Scores Twice as Norway Beat Denmark 3-2 in Nations League
Erling Haaland scored twice as Norway defeated Denmark 3-2 in their opening UEFA Nations League match, securing their first-ever competitive victory over the Danes.
Norway made a blistering start, taking the lead in the 14th minute when Oscar Bobb curled Martin Odegaard’s pass into the far corner.
Haaland doubled the advantage four minutes later, collecting Antonio Nusa’s through ball before firing through Filip Jorgensen’s legs.
Denmark pulled one back before half-time through a superb Mikkel Damsgaard free-kick, before Rasmus Hojlund levelled the contest in the 60th minute after Orjan Nyland had saved Morten Hjulmand’s initial header.
Norway regained the lead 14 minutes later, with Haaland producing a clinical finish from Odegaard’s short-corner delivery for his second of the night.
Denmark pushed for another equaliser, but Norway held firm despite David Wolfe’s late dismissal.
The victory extends Norway’s unbeaten home run to 14 matches, stretching back to March 2024. Denmark, meanwhile, remain without a win in their last six away Nations League matches.
